Mermaid Realm

Newfound M E R M A I D Sighting....................................

In the scheme of Mermaid Realm, I have become aware, after all the Starbucks coffee purchases, that their logo is a M E R M A I D ! Her crown in the logo is appropo--the starshape must be a star-fish.
Mermaid Crown created by Sherry Candy Lane, artist. Lifesize crown ready-to-be-wrapt-in-spell .....awaits sinewy mermaids.

It is adorned with Vintage glass wire beads, a gorgeous beaded fan from Pier I, antique glass brooch, wire-woven mermaid pin with pearls and copper wrap, a tiara found at a consignment shop for the base, and a shapely rhinestoned & gold seahorse pin.

Mermaid Realm

Royalty have their empire

They reign in cloak and crown,

Angels glory their Maker

Winged and halo bound.

Mary, Queen of Heaven rules

Adorned by stars of twelve,

Mermaids invoke at their realm

Wrapt in Tiara Spell.

Cascading kelp and green pearls

Imbed the maidens' scales,

Coral beads and shimmery weeds

Emboss their shapely tails.

Combs of gemmed encrusted shells

Bauble their silken locks,

Scalloped scepters anchor them...

Temptresses on the rocks.

Moon View

Silver

Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel, like a log,
With paws of silver sleeps the dog;
From their shadowy cote the white breasts peep
Of doves in silver feathered sleep
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
With silver claws, and silver eye;
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.

Mermaid Log....August 3, 2009~~~~~~.....~~~~
I can spend hours languishing over the moon. Here beneath the waters the night moon looks liquid silver...like I could scoop it up with a silver dipper.

Sea Market

I must go down to the Sea again.....Sea Marketing...Saturday, August 1, 2009....I bought a little boat to float home with all the treasures found today!

Glass fish accessories...one of the many alluring collections for my aquaseum.

I found this mesmerizing corduroy scene of The Pier....Mermaids peer there 'neath the docks, skimming close to the boats, rising above the water to take in the scents of fish catches and sailors' wares...only the seagulls espy our presence.

A trophy reminder of the first sailor, lured by my siren songs..What a catch.

A figurine that caught my eye--and reminds me of "enchanted" land visits.

I have 13 of these fine, vintage dinner plates. This is one of my favorites.

Magnificent shell-shaped "bath tub"....Add Pearl Drop Bubble Bath....my scales will be cleaned to a glittery glow.

Beaded necklaces, by artist, Sherry Candy Lane, made of genuine turquoise, pearls, glass, hematite, and more...will be stunning with this dramatic pair of neon blue gloves.

Sometimes the rocks become so uncomfortable....this small boat will be a welcome change for weekend sun bathing.

Baubles...like this pearl bracelet...pretty props in my treasure chest.

Sea Glass Galore....washed a million times in Ocean Tides and kissed in whitewash caps, the glass has mingled amongst the deepest secrets....Now to be touched and admired by the lucky seacomber....Turquoise glass is my favorite.

Lily Shelly is my favorite sea doll. Once a Kewpie-like cutie, Sherry Candy Lane re-dressed her in mystic shells. Lily loves her make-over.

Island dolls strike my fancy...genuine handmade in places like Jamaica, Bermuda...calico fabrics and exotic faces...bring my mind to want to be in these places...on land...close to the sea....yet, with the earth beneath my feet.

Fish Bottles...Fancy or plain...line my shelves in every room. Some are 9"...some are 12 - 16" high. Made by Wheaton/or wine makers/or reproduced as accessories.

The more shells, the better. I can spend hours arranging and re-arranging shells. I use them for wallpaper, picture frames, jewelry, games, bartering, and much more. This small crate of shells came from Antiqua.

Saturday, August 1, 2009...~~~....

Went to the Sea Market today. So many 'finds.' Take a look at my lucky bargains.

Her Mer-Shoes

July 21, 2009

~~~~Oh how I'm longing to be
Afoot
On land
Away from the Sea.
Stepping soft in sequin shoes
Strolling
The green
Away from the Blue.
Stretching my legs in moonlight
Whirling
In gown
Away from deep plight.
Wiggling my toes for a laugh
Polished
Bright red
Away from Mer-Wrath.
Climbing steps to reach his door
Gliding
In haste
Away from the Moor.
Twining petals in my hair
Cast in
A chant
Away from wet lair.
Oh how I'm longing to be
Afoot
On land
Away from the Sea.
Mermaid's Peer
July 21, 2009
~~~The Sea envelops my Salty Soul~~~Grey waves cloak my scales~~~I am a part of the Deep, Mysterious Underworld. Sherry Candy Lane has ( by enchanted grant) captured my presence. In a slithering moment, she froze the moving waters with acrylic paints and a tapestry of brushes. Her canvas measures 36" wide by 24" high.
