Sea Muse
Shadowbox measures 18" hi x 6 1/2" wide.
This piece was inspired by the interesting plaster face found at a flea market.
Her body is composed of a mosaic from a broken vase, which has painted fish on it. Arms were bent in shape from vintage silverplate tongs. A pastel porcelain fish with graceful shape poses in front. Embellishments of authentic shells, seaglass, fish lure, faux pearls and costume jewelry, and much more create this Sea Muse.
The shadowbox stands on its own, with an attached wooden base.
Moonboat Meet
This piece began with the inspiring 12" round (front) porthole type shadowbox.
A vintage card in the background brings the sea fantasy journey. A bisque figure becomes the adventurer. She sits in a tiny glass boat. Glass beads, authentic seashells, sequins, sheer fabric, and gauzy ribbon are part of the composition.
Mini Pearl Mermaid Shadowbox
Mer Post
This sea art began with the tall (24") dress form. Hollowed out to make a mini-shadowbox for the ship-in-a-bottle from Mystic Seaport & shells.
Covered with authentic shells (some from Antiqua), shell embellished turtles (formerly napkins rings found at Pier I), seaglass ornamented belt buckle, a finely sea-washed bottle-jug top, fish-shaped box lid, paper sculptured mermaid, and much more.

Padiddle Champ
Padiddle Champ (a trophy label from a contest my son and I used to have to find padiddles--lights out on traveling cars) marks the former candle shell (hollowed out) to allow the Seahorse team to paddle home with a victory. They bring Hawaiian shells; cruise ship lucite souvenirs; seahorse jewelry; Bermuda sand; authentic seahorses; costume sea jewelry; Florida shell-covered salt shaker; a trumpeting shell angel, and much more.
